Nice Job!! 2 September 2003 I started with Steam Engineering in May 1944 with training at the U.S. Maritime Service Training Station at Sheepshead Bay, NY. I Retired 01/01/93 after 49-1/2 years of service. I was the first Chief Engineer on Sea-Land Services Class SL-7 Vessels, Turbine Driven twin screw rated at 60,000hp each for a total of 120,000hp with a crusing speed of 33 Knots, the fastest container vessels ever built to this day. I alway loved my steam engines, I sailed on vessels with Reciprocating Engines, Turbine Engines, Turbo-Electric Engines from 1500hp to 120,000hp. I also sailed on Diesel Powered vessles from 10,000hp to 35,000hp. I worked with Scotch Boilers and all types of high pressure boilers. I hold a U.S. Coast Guard License as Chief Engineering Officer Steam and Diesel Any HorsePower. I alway prefered Steam Plants.
